GABRIELLA ROSSI REMEDI, aka GABRY

​

On 22th October 1966, Bertus married Gabry in La Spezia, Italy. She is an Italian opera singer, born on 24th January 1936 by the ridder Mario Rossi (the nepew of the commodore Emilio Rossi) and Amneris Remedi.

The Remedis were an old Italian noble family based in Luni around the year 1121 and then in Sarzana on 1201. They are related with Malaspina and Pallavicino of Parma families. On 1437, Remigio Remedi married Giulia Malaspina of Ugliano. Their son Domenico Remedi was general vicar of Duke of Milan Galeazzo Maria Sforza, the son of Francesco Sforza and Bianca Maria Visconti. Domenico Remedi married Lucrezia, a daughter of the count Capra. Some generations after, Giacomo Remedi married Maddalena Pallavicino of Parma.

 

Bertus painted two art works suggested by "The Little Mermaid" of Hans Christian Andersen. Gabry never posed for Bertus as a model, but She has inspired Him to paint "Little Mermaid" with Her enigmatic beauty,
